At that hour the B27 is empty and the drive runs at the fast end of 13–20 minutes, which leaves you standing in the check-in hall rather than jogging through it. Standard routing is the B27 south off the Degerloch plateau, through Möhringen and Echterdingen to the airport. It bunches roughly 07:00–08:30 and again 16:00–18:30, and the last two kilometres get busy on big trade-fair days at the Messe next to the terminal. For one person with hand luggage at midday, honestly, the Stadtbahn is fine. It stops being the better option at 04:30, before the first trains, or with two large cases, a small child, or a colleague and a pallet of exhibition samples.
