Why fixed-price transfers, not a taximeter

Stuttgart Airport sits 13 kilometres south of the city centre — close enough that a regular taximeter ride for the same trip varies between €38 in dead traffic and €74 during the Filstal-Echterdingen morning commute. That €36 swing is the exact reason fixed-price transfers exist: at 04:50 a.m., heading to a 06:55 boarding, you do not want a meter ticking past your patience window. You want the price you saw at booking to be the final amount on your card statement.

Operationally, the fixed price is computed from the routed kilometre count plus the German VAT split (7 % under § 12 (2) Nr. 10 (b) UStG for trips up to 50 km or within the same municipality, 19 % for the longer cross-county hops). The price displayed at booking is the bottom-line gross — what you see is what you pay, with no per-minute traffic creep and no surge tacked on at the curb after the ride.

How card payment works

Your card is charged via Stripe at the moment you confirm the booking. The fixed price you saw on the quote screen is the exact amount debited — no surcharges, no surprises at pickup. If you cancel more than 24 hours before pickup, the full amount is refunded to the same card within 1–10 business days. Between 6–24 hours: 50 % refund. Less than 6 hours or no-show: no refund per the cancellation policy.

The PCI-DSS Level 1 certified Stripe handles the card itself — we never see, store, or log full PANs. What we keep for dispatch records is the card brand and the last four digits (so we can match invoices to the correct payment), plus the Stripe PaymentIntent ID for our reconciliation.

When should you book?

For outbound flights from Stuttgart Airport (STR), our dispatcher recommends booking the moment your flight is ticketed. Capacity is rarely the bottleneck — we operate under multiple PBefG-licensed taxi concessions (§ 47 PBefG), which means a vehicle is always on shift — but committing the booking early locks the fixed price against any future fuel-tariff or VAT-rate adjustments, and our drivers can build their shift schedule around your pickup time.

For inbound flights, book once you have a confirmed scheduled landing. The driver tracks your published landing time and adds the customs-buffer minutes you specified at booking — typically 45 minutes for EU arrivals (passport-only), 60 minutes for non-EU (full customs declaration). No-show wait time is up to 15 minutes after that buffer at no extra charge; longer waits can be coordinated by phone.

Business travel and corporate accounts

Most of our recurring bookings come from the business-travel cluster around Stuttgart — Daimler-supplier corridor in Reutlingen, Bosch and Porsche regional offices in Stuttgart Mitte, Mercedes-Werk-pickups in Bad Cannstatt and Untertürkheim.
