02 · What it is
Festpreis (fixed price) is the alternative to the standard taxi tariff (Taxameter) — instead of starting a meter and accumulating cents per minute and metre, we agree a single price up-front. The price is calculated from your origin postcode to Stuttgart Airport (or vice versa), based on a published distance matrix, and is locked the moment you confirm.
For airport transfers the value is predictability: the taximeter keeps running every minute spent in B27 traffic and only settles at the destination — so its total swings with the day. The fixed price removes that variance. You see one number when you book, and you pay exactly that number — no surge, no surprises, whatever the traffic.
The matrix is built once, then recalibrated quarterly against actual fuel, drive-time, and the underlying Stuttgart taxi tariff. We don't play games with surge pricing — every customer who books the same route at the same time of week sees the same price, regardless of how busy our dispatch is.
03 · When this is the right pick
On 10 km+ airport runs the meter is at its most unpredictable — per-minute traffic and waiting charges stack up and the total is only known at the destination. Locking a fixed price from Tübingen, Reutlingen, Esslingen, Sindelfingen, or anywhere in the region means the price is settled before you ride, not after.
You know exactly when you're flying. Book the transfer at the same time you book the flight. Free cancellation up to 24 h means there's no risk if plans change.
When the trip cost shows up on an expense report, "exact price agreed up-front" is much easier to defend than "depends on the meter, expect €60–€90."
04 · What it costs
Standard class (Mercedes E-Class, up to 3 passengers, up to 3 luggage pieces) starts at €50 for the Stuttgart-Mitte-to-STR corridor. Other origins are priced from the same matrix; longer distances (Tübingen, Reutlingen) come in around €125–135 standard, €165–176 premium.

We pre-compute every Stuttgart-region origin/destination as a Festpreis-Matrix in our system — distance via OSRM-routed kilometres, vehicle class, and pickup-time band. The quote you see in the widget is the price you pay; we don't adjust for traffic, route detours, or driver-discretion. The matrix is reviewed quarterly against actual fuel and tariff inputs.
Door-to-door transfer, all luggage handling, child seat on request (booked at no extra charge), bottled water on Premium class, payment processing (Stripe pre-auth), VAT, and the booking confirmation by email + SMS. The price does not include tip — German taxi-tipping convention is voluntary, 5–10 % is standard for good service but never expected.
A taximeter is variable: it keeps counting per minute in traffic and only settles once you arrive — so the final figure is known only at the destination. Our fixed price is the opposite: one number, locked when you book, unaffected by traffic, time of day, or detours. On airport runs of 10 km+ — where meter variance is highest — that certainty is the point: you see the exact amount up-front and that is what you pay, whatever the A8 does that morning.
No. Specifically: no airport-surcharge, no night-tariff (the Stuttgart tariff ordinance has neither — day and night cost the same on the meter), no waiting-fee for late arrivals up to 30 minutes, no card-payment surcharge. The only line on your invoice is the trip itself. If something changes mid-trip (route detour, additional stop, extended waiting), we update the booking and quote the change before charging anything beyond the original amount.
When you book, we charge the fixed trip amount to your card via Stripe — secured with 3-D Secure and PCI DSS Level 1. If you cancel free (more than 24 h before pickup), Stripe issues a full refund within 1–10 banking days depending on your card issuer. Between 6–24 h before pickup: 50 % refund. Under 6 h or no-show: no refund. We never store your card number; only Stripe sees the full PAN.
You should still book the pickup time as +45 min after your scheduled landing — that's the buffer that covers most delays plus customs. If you're later than that, our dispatch waits up to 30 min free; beyond that we contact you via the phone number you provided. We don't auto-track flight delays via flight-data APIs — too many false positives — but we adjust same-day for any delay that's communicated to dispatch.
