What people ask before booking.

• How is the fixed price calculated?+

  We pre-compute every Stuttgart-region origin/destination as a Festpreis-Matrix in our system — distance via OSRM-routed kilometres, vehicle class, and pickup-time band. The quote you see in the widget is the price you pay; we don't adjust for traffic, route detours, or driver-discretion. The matrix is reviewed quarterly against actual fuel and tariff inputs.

• What is included in the fixed price?+

  Door-to-door transfer, all luggage handling, child seat on request (booked at no extra charge), bottled water on Premium class, payment processing (Stripe pre-auth), VAT, and the booking confirmation by email + SMS. The price does not include tip — German taxi-tipping convention is voluntary, 5–10 % is standard for good service but never expected.

• When does fixed-price beat a taximeter?+

  Almost always when you cross the city limit. Inside Stuttgart-Mitte for short trips (≤ 4 km), the standard taximeter usually wins by €1–3. For airport-bound trips of 10 km+ — which is every transfer to STR from anywhere except Plieningen / Bernhausen — the fixed price beats the taximeter by €5–25, often more during traffic-heavy times. Our matrix is calibrated to be slightly under the average meter price specifically because that's our value proposition.

• Are there hidden surcharges I should know about?+

  No. Specifically: no airport-surcharge, no night-tariff (Stuttgart taxi tariff law allows one but we don't apply it for fixed-price airport bookings), no waiting-fee for late arrivals up to 30 minutes, no card-payment surcharge. The only line on your invoice is the trip itself. If something changes mid-trip (route detour, additional stop, extended waiting), we update the booking and quote the change before charging anything beyond the original amount.

• How does the payment and refund work?+

  When you book, we charge the fixed trip amount to your card via Stripe — secured with 3-D Secure and PCI DSS Level 1. If you cancel free (more than 24 h before pickup), Stripe issues a full refund within 1–10 banking days depending on your card issuer. Between 6–24 h before pickup: 50 % refund. Under 6 h or no-show: no refund. We never store your card number; only Stripe sees the full PAN.

• What if my flight is delayed and I arrive late at STR?+

  You should still book the pickup time as +45 min after your scheduled landing — that's the buffer that covers most delays plus customs. If you're later than that, our dispatch waits up to 30 min free; beyond that we contact you via the phone number you provided. We don't auto-track flight delays via flight-data APIs — too many false positives — but we adjust same-day for any delay that's communicated to dispatch.
