Default is the A81 south past Ludwigsburg to Kreuz Stuttgart, then the A8 east to the Flughafen/Messe exit: 55–70 minutes in ordinary conditions. When the A81 is blocked — Friday afternoons and holiday getaway weekends are the usual culprits — the driver switches to the B27 through Ludwigsburg, slower on paper and often faster in practice. Either way the fare does not move. A longer route costs you nothing extra.
